In my younger days, the entertainment options were far less diverse than they are today. Our pleasures were simple and pure, often outdoor activities like playing ball or cycling. For me, cycling was not just a pastime, but a way of life. I clearly remember my first bicycle was second-hand, as the price of a new one was astronomically out of reach for us. That bike became my most treasured possession, symbolizing freedom and independence.

As time passed, even when I got a brand-new bicycle sponsored, my heart was still most attached to that old companion that grew up with me. For twenty years, the bicycle accompanied me through every turn in life. Even during the global pandemic, when the world seemed to have hit the pause button, cycling remained a constant in my life, not only helping me make ends meet but also providing spiritual comfort.

Now, as a 61-year-old resident of Tuen Mun, I have witnessed the ups and downs of this community. The special bamboo bicycle I own was a gift left by a globetrotter, carrying her adventurous spirit and love for life. This bike has not only crossed countless national borders but also connected different cultures and stories.
